Home from the market!
Had a brilliant time at my first market stall in Bath! I didn't expect to sell a thing, but in the end I did portraits of both kids and adults!
Should've taken more photos, but I was just so immersed in it all that I not only forgot to take pictures of my stall and my customers, but I also forgot to eat (which got the better of me in the afternoon).
I got one photo though! Here's a lovely gent who wanted his portrait done as a birthday card to his dad. :)
Here's a practice portrait I did of my dear friend El:
And here's just a lil doodle to show what it was like to do portraits of kids. I did four kids in total. These two got my chairs while I sat on the floor, but about 10 seconds later they had joined me on the market floor to look at the sketch. Incredibly cute!
Already discussed with the market organizer about coming back next Saturday. I hope I get the same stall!

"Fancy a portrait in 10 minutes?" First market experience coming up!
Hello my darlings! You may wonder why the heck I've been so quiet on the blog this past week or so. No real big paintings and graphic novel pages.
Well, here's one of the reasons:
I'm going to try setting up a little market stall in my town Bath and offer portraits and prints to the market-goers. The organizers of the Saturday farmers market in Green Park Station have kindly reserved a space for me to give it a shot! So I'll be there tomorrow morning from 9am until around 1pm when the other stalls begin packing up.
This is very much an experiment to see if people are interested in quick portraits and artist prints. If not, I'll at least have a morning of sketching outside while eating cake. ;D
If you fancy poking me, this is what my stall will look like:
It's going to be opposite the antique-shop and close to the Brasserie. Can't miss it when you walk into the station, really..!

Wedding Dress Commission: Brain farts continue.

I've been commissioned to design a wedding dress, which is a huge honour! The lady wants it to be inspired by Victoriana/Steampunk, so here are my very first doodles. These doodles aren't bigger than a few centimetres, but it's how I always start to think of designs:

10 minute portraits! The practice run.
I'm going to try out being a street artist over here in Bath, so I'm practicing portraits. All of the ones below have been done in 10 minutes or less.
I'm using diluted ink, which dries a lot quicker than watercolour and only needs one wash to make an impact. (Whereas watercolour will usually take some layering)
