Busy busy beeee~
Hello lovelies!
As you may have noticed, my blog's been a little bit quieter than usual. This is because I've got two major deadlines looming and none of them are of work that I can quickly show on my blog.
Howeverrr! Here's some of the webcomics I've done for my Jenspiration comic http://www.jenspiration.co.uk/
I promise some propparrrrh art is coming! Clockwork Watch and Bayou Arcana are almost done!

Jenspiration, the webcomic is up!
Jenspiration! The Diary of a Doodlaholic
After a lot of delays, I've managed to get my webcomic online! I still need to sort out comicpress for it and give it it's own URL, but I just couldn't keep it offline while I was doing that stuff, so it's UP, in... HTML...!
See it a bit as a preview. Once it all works like a proper webcomic, I hope to be able to update it at least 3 times a week. Need to create a bit of a buffer :D

Skal: Prologue Special Edition has SOLD OUT!
Thank you all for the support! I sold out of my first special edition print run of Skal: Prologue a couple of days ago and have been planning the second regular print run ever since.
*sniffles* bye bye last copies~
I'll be attending quite a few UK comic cons this year, so that means I'll print another batch of Skal relatively soon in preparation.

Bayou Arcana: Example of watercolour process.
Here's how I painted Page 2 of Bayou Arcana in stages:
After a lot of discussion and advice-seeking from writer-friends...
... I have seriously decided to grab Skal by the horns and do it properly.
It all came from a late night discussion with my partner about the uncertainty of creating graphic novels and short stories for print in today's economic climate. It's very difficult to actually make a living out of it, and creating a long story often takes years without any payment. Investing time in long projects that might not even pay the printing costs at the end is a big gamble! But I've kinda been doing pages of Skal on the side of paying work for months without too much disruption, and not seriously thought about it as a proper project.
Until partner said:
"Why don't YOU create a graphic novel yourself Jen?"
So! After consulting some writer friends (thanks guys!) I have now seriously decided to attempt to make Skal a story for print.
This would mean that I would sit down and iron out the story, the dialogue, the setting, the characters, the PACING (my weakness!), and then paint my pages without a weekly deadline.
The idea would be to release the entire first chapter and prologue in one go online, to avoid that break in flow when reading.
So, all of this means that the Skal bits you've seen will be redone, restructured and re-painted. I'm also having them proof-read by people who know how to create graphic novels XD
I'm very excited by this and will post my usual progress shots on the blog.
Just want to take the opportunity to thank the people who read Skal and send lots of love out to you people who've been so supportive and nice to me :D <3

Mystique portrait.
Sorry about the lil radio silence! I was in Wales for three days and immediately after received news that I got a portfolio review with Marvel in London in the beginning of April, so stuff's pretty damn busy here on my end.
This also (sadly) means that I simply haven't got the time to paint Skal. I don't want it to be a rushed job, so it's being dealt with slowly on the side, but I can't see it being done this week or next. :(
Anywho.
