Skal, Chapter 1 has begun :D

I'm doing a lot of inking and sketching which will be scanned and put on the blog as soon as they're ready, but for now, here's the intro quote to chapter one:

May: Month of Madness! Part 2.

The Month of Madness continued with:

'Bristol Expo 2012'!

The second weekend of May had one of the comic conventions I now try to attend on a regular basis! And this year was no exception. Me, Corey and Yomi had a table in the Old Brunel Station where we were trying to fit all my stuff, all Coreys stuff AND the Clockwork Watch stuff onto one table!

This video is from the Sunday morning:

Lots and lots happened at this convention, but I will try and keep it brief and just go through some key events! Except the usual talking non-stop for like 10 hours each day, I was also part of my first ever panels, one for Clockwork Watch together with Corey Brotherson and Yomi Ayeni, and the other was part of Bayou Arcana with the majority of the other creators!

One part of the Bayou Arcana panel! Need more photos of this because were were so many people :O!

We were interviewed about Clockwork Watch by the lovely character that is Jimmy Aquino of Comic News Insider:

To listen to the interview, go here: Comic News Insider Episode 402
Our bit starts at about 56 minutes in.

Here's our pose after the interview:

Sold a whole bunch of stuff at our table throughout the weekend! Including Skal, Bayou Arcana, The Arrival, Magic Of Myths (Corey's book!) and lots of prints! (If you wanna have a look at some of the stuff that was for sale, pop to my shop: Jen's lil comic shop!)

Got penguin chocolate biscuits from Lovely Lee!
So all in all, it was a great success!

May: Month of Madness! Part 1.

As the title suggests, this month has been complete madness. I'm so sorry I haven't been able to update my blog. I've actually yet to have a day off. Hopefully I'll get one in June. Gah.

Anyway! It's time to start explaining what's been going on! So let's kick off with:

'Tomorrow's World Today!'

The first live event by the Clockwork Watch team, hosted in a London tunnel in the first weekend of May.

Wow, I mean, wow. You've probably heard about the comic The Arrival that I've been illustrating for the 3 year transmedia experience called 'Clockwork Watch'. Now, I had been way too busy trying to get the comic done to even glance at the other things that were happening in the background. Having never been involved in Transmedia before, I didn't really know what to expect, so it was only when I came to London to be part of the launch event that things finally clicked with me.

The event was hosted in a Steampunk themed tunnel not far away from the London Dungeons. It had a themed pub with live music, a dark and atmospheric cocktail bar, a tea museum, artwork, a speakers corner, a steampunk market, and a stage where clockwork demonstrations were held and later on Professor Elemental did a gig...!

(Cocktail bar)

(Professor Elemental with a friend... I think..! :P)

Needless to say, my mind was blown. Just seeing the hundreds of people joining in (the vast majority of them in creative steampunk gear) was amazing..!

(Examples of original characters at the event!)

(Me having a bindi standoff in the tunnel with the Spy Mistress-General)

And not only that, but a character from the actual comic was walking around, played by an actress in full costume! I designed her looks and she came to life! Eeeeek!

(for those of you who have the comic, it was Lady Frobisher Pilbeam!)

One of my first doodles of her costume...

The actual actress at the event! :D

Awesomesauce! Can it possibly get any more awesome? Why yes, it can!

After Professor Elemental's gig, we had a chat with him, he got himself a copy of The Arrival and I got myself a photo of him and me :D Even though he was like 'Oh no, I don't have my hat on, I'm not complete!'

Argh! I could go on forever about this event, but I'll let you go and have a peek at the photos if you're curious: Click me for all photographs!

And if you'd like a copy of The Arrival, go here: Click me if you'd like to order yourself a copy of The Arrival!

Post-Apoc inspired portrait of a couple.

Here's one of the painting commissions I've been doing behind the scenes lately! Only now able to show it as the couple have been given the original yesterday :)
