Warm up doodle of the Professor!

Rrrrright folks! First off: Sorry for not having done a 'post Thoughtbubble Convention' blog post yet. I've been so busy and pretty much 99% of what I'm working on I'm not allowed to show :(

BUT, I CAN show you the newest project I'm involved in! I will be illustrating two pages out of Professor Elementals comic anthology, and I can show you lovely people the process of that, so expect to see some doodles here :D

To start off, here's a warm up doodle of the professor himself. I'm trying to get him right...

(In case you don't know who the prof is. Check this out:)

Off to Thoughtbubble 2012!

It’s that time of the year again where we head off to Leeds and enjoy a fantastic weekend of comics, graphic novels and general geekery!

I should've written a proper blog post about this at the beginning of the week, but I became ill and really accomplished nothing until yesterday evening :(

As the title has already stated, I'm off to this year's Thoughtbubble Convention in Leeds! I will be by two tables together with Corey Brotherson and Yomi Ayeni in Royal Armouries Hall (tables 81 -82) Click to view floorplan!

We will also be holding a panel on Sunday at 13:10 where we'll chat about Clockwork Watch!

So if you're popping over, then feel free to say hi! And come steal some of our lil free chocolates from our table :D

Err. I was tipsy and asked for something to draw over twitter related to superheroines. First suggestion was Mary Marvel, so here's the doodle of her:

On-site paintings done at Burlesque event!

Went to a lovely burlesque show here in Bath on Saturday to do some on site doodlin'. Here are the results.

My art used by some lovelies:

First up is Benji Bartlett who creates magic with his music! He busks locally here in Bath and can be contacted on facebook if you're curious about his music (or even want to get hold of his cd!).

Then we have the online browser game The Grail Lords which is created by Gerard Vanmaercke during his spare time. He very politely contacted me to see if he'd be allowed to use a certain thief sketch for a part of his game which involves gambling. I really appreciate it when people ask to use my art (you'd be amazed how seldom that happens on the internet), so of course my thief shall be part of his game!

There we go! In other news: Very busy with my two main comic projects (Elysia and Clockwork Watch). I have had to put Skal on ice due to the sheer workload with the other two comics, but after November I will pick it up again and cradle it forever and ever and ever ;)

6 Page feature in this month's Bizarre magazine, Yes please!

Things are going in high speed over here as usual, and pretty much everything I'm working on at the moment cannot be shown on my blog, so that's why there are a few tumbleweeds here...

Here is something I CAN SHOW:

In this month's Bizarre, Clockwork Watch has a massive 6 page feature! And pretty much every page has my art on it! Jeeebus!

Here are some scans of the pages, but if you are interested in properly reading it, I suggest popping down to your local WHSmith's and buying yourself a copy, also supporting the magazine in the process :)

This really has made my month! :D

Clockwork Watch: Quill's reportage drawing.

I've been meaning to do a character for Clockwork Watch for ages now, and finally got the opportunity to get crackin' with her when the next live event was announced!

Namely the union of workers having a big strike action against the introduction of clockworks!

Here's what my character, only known as 'Quill' witnessed:

For more info on the live strike action in England, pop over here: Tomorrow's World Today hits Latitude Festival!

You can get involved in the strike even if you're not at the festival! Send a photo of yourself all dressed up and ready for some strike action and you'll get a limited edition free print!
