The A2 mermaid commission, final scan:

I actually forgot to post the final scan of this A2 painting on my blog! D'oh! It's been scanned at my local printers, but I'm a bit unsure about the colours. They seem almost fluorescent to me. Other people have said it looks fine, but I'm not sure. :/ Anyway, should give you an idea of the final painting:

  1. That's wonderful Jennie - I can't judge the colour intensity of the scan without seeing the original for comparison but it looks lovely to me. It does look very bright and 'poster-y' rather than a water colour if you know what I mean, but not in a bad way at all.

If it really bothers you, you could try reducing the colour saturation in Photoshop.

    Great work though :-)

  2. Thanks Lee!

To be fair, my scanner tends to brutalize the colours too sometimes, oversaturating and things. Sometimes it ends up looking better than my original, which is irritating XD

But in this case, I think the original looks better than the 'poster-y scan' since a lot of gentle colours and brush strokes have been murdered. :(

  3. So very very very VERY PUUUUURRRRTY!!!!!! :D <3

  4. PURRRTYY!!? :D
Thank you my dear :D Can't wait to see you at Bristol con!
