First alla prima's!

Rich agreed to be my model for my first alla prima's in oil paint. (Alla prima is when you paint the entire thing in one sitting, not waiting for it to dry)

Be gentle since this is the first time I've touched oil *sob*

Have become properly addicted (or maybe high on the fumes?) and started priming about 10 additional boards to paint on. :D

This is amazingly fun!

Painting of my better half. (And an old coffee-stained sketch)

My (much) better half:

Found this old coffee-stained sketch of Omran and Mushirah while I was sorting through some stuff:

Outdoor painting to relax.

Just doodling for fun. Nothing else. :)

Also bought my first kit of oil paints, so will be giving that a go very soon!

I AM STILL ALIVE.

This band's music pretty much personifies the feeling of the end-degree rush/stress/pressure.

Sheelanagig

I've spent weeks just going between printers and the exhibition space and the studio and rhfjdhfksghdkhds...!

But it will be back to normal soon. We've just got the show in London to go and then I will be back to full speed again.

Sorry for the long radio silence, folks!

Psst! Here's my space!

Here's the first photos of my space for the exhibition at Bower Ashton :D

The official opening is on Friday evening, so there's still work to be done, but it's almost there!

First break in a while...!

I promise this blog will soon be back to normal. I've just got the exhibitions to do and my parents to entertain for a week (Hej mamma! Hej pappa!) The birds help me stay sane (along with "social contact" through twitter and facebook)

Once I've graduated, it's DRAWING FOR SERIOUS BUSINESS. Yarrr!

But for now...

A short break at the Bristol Festival of Nature where I managed to get my face painted.

A bad photo of the entire lineup at home:

The last panicky push.

It's the last final painful squeeeeze now. It's been so hectic that I haven't had time to sit down and paint since the last blog entry... I've just been running between places (mostly printers) and trying to get things sorted.

Our camera decided to not have any batteries, so here are some horrid photos taken with my laptop.. :P

Should give you a hint of what I'm doing.

Possible page 3, first scan.

Getting started with the monochrome figures.

Frog perspective is pretty much my idea of HELL.

One of the first rough concept sketches of one of the characters. (without including the weapon)

And a random sketch of my 'dress up' stuff while my brain was dead.

I'M AN AUNTIE

From now on, you may refer to me as Auntie Jen. Oh yes. The POWER.

Voresh Markeplace: Ink

Larger: Click me!

Skal, possible page 2. First scan.

Again, the scanner at home is too small to take this image.

First scan in case I mess it up from here. :P
It will be kept as a mostly monochrome image though. Just like: This One

Testing scanner with a colour..

My scanner seems to be behaving very... strangely.

So here's a test scan of a newly painted picture of the tattooed back.

I -think- that looks relatively normal.
Now I'm officially confused.

Argh postcards!

Right, so we have to create some postcards to go with the show. It is apparently nicer for people to pick up and bring home rather than a business card.

Here are some of my options (with some colour balance issues from scanning):

Woah. I think my scanner may have completely slaughtered this one!

Must go check the settings...

Wow! Some more crappy photos!?

Why yes!
