Swedish work setup.

Got my splash page taped down on the left of the desk.
Very bad photos with the wrong light, so you can't really see the colours of the splash page as it is now. Will attempt to take a photo of it during the day.

Save me from this scanner!

Gasp! It's atrocious!

Look at what the scanner does to my speed paints. I think I'm going to cry in a corner now.

On the plane to Sweden.

BEWARE SWEDEN, FOR I HAVE LANDED.

Hrm. Yes. I am now in Sweden.
I am intact.
My stuff's intact.

I've had a caviar sandwich.

From today, I will be using my dad's scanner to upload stuff for the month I'm here. His scanner tends to overexpose stuff TO THE MAX, so please keep this in mind. All my sketches are being brutally violated.

Here's sketches I made during my trip today.

Arelith: Peeking out. :O

Last day or proper Arelith gaming.
A month in Sweden will be spent working. :D

Here's a quick flat paint.

Some more splashing on.

Rorschach.

Attempting Self portrait.

EDIT:
Painted version:

----------
I always get it wrooooong! But I try. I really dooo.

'summarize yourself in one picture'
Me: Drawing, Music, Coffee.

Good thing about drawing is that you can edit out the bad bits. Mwaha. Muwahahah.
Ah, the power.

Don't mind me. I'm having my binge.

This is all in the name of research.

Ah! Just had to get that out!

Just had to attempt Rorschach without the mask. Movie version.

VERY DIFFICULT. :o

Fun though. Reminds me of way back when I was drawing Rufus ShinRa and couldn't get him the way I wanted him, ever.

Who watches the watchmen!?

Why I do!

Having read the graphic novel first, I saw the movie yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. It was actually very good!

... Not like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen :D Harr harr.

Anyway. Here's a quick fan art of my favourite character.

Why favourite? Because he's a lunatic of course.

Rorschach.

Slow slow. Getting ready for Sweden.

Am slow on the updates. Packing and just preparing for the month long trip to Sweden that will happen in 4 days.

But here's a rough insider comic that I'm making to explain my characters absence from Arelith.

Arelith: Speedy cliff.

Insider, but I love relaxing with a bit of simple sequential stuff.

BnM. Darky darks.

Just testing out where the darkest darks should be in this image. Very hard when you've got several light sources.

Also having a bit of an issue. I've lightboxed the final sketch for this page, but I find myself actually liking the rough more!

Ah well. Will still paint the final version and then compare the two to see which one is the best.

BnM. Splash page 2. Rough rough.

EDIT 2:

First colour tester. It's still very flat and messy. Just trying to get a feel for it. Pondering cooler colours, but I'm not sure yet. This is something that needs work.

EDIT:

More sketchie.

Ooops! Think I messed up the perspective a bit on this one. But seeing as it's a first rough sorta, I am excused!

BnM. Splash page progress... Yarr!

Zomg Snowy...!

BnM. Posture practice.

Second splash page is being sketched out. But I am having issues with the posture of the central character.

Here's a sketch:

I feel it needs to be more slumped, but he also needs to be looking in the mirror. How to get the balance...!

Arelith: Doodle. Investigating blood.

Part of drawing I will never finish, so thought I might as well scan it.

Morning warmup!

Feel the wrath of the Zomg Hand!

Don't normally show these on the blog. Warmup sketches to loosen up.

BnM. Splash page progress.

Finally scanned the progress to check how the contrast is and so forth. Still have lots of work to do on this. Also adding the opaque white snow last.

At least this is a backup now if I do something horribly wrong.

BnM. Testing the vignettes.

Not sure if these will be needed in the final image, but I like the idea of having closeups of faces. Makes me happy. :D

My setup.

Rough of splash page. Taped down 'final' (if I don't cock it up) version of splash page. Side painting to relax the brain.

Bubbles on the side!

Working on the splash page now. It's been taped down to my drawing board, so I can't really scan the progress.. :P

But here's a speedpaint I had on the side.

This is about as saucy as I'll get with drawings.
Maybe I should do more. Dunno.

Quick sketch (with wrist support)

It still feels really strange, but I think I could get used to it.
Here's a quick sketchie.

Occupational Wrist Support review (in progress)

Wohoo!

So I finally got my two wrist supports that I ordered from: www.drfoot.co.uk

Here's the box!

Getting them on was very easy, and I was surprised at what a perfect fit they were. Apparently my wrists are Medium in size. (If you're buying a pair, don't forget to measure around your wrist!)

Here's what they look like from a few different angles.

As you probably can see, they are... quite thick around the wrist area, which I was worried might get in the way of drawing. So far, I've only experienced a bit of difficulty typing on the computer.

There's no problems at all holding a pencil. Which is GOOD :P

And hey! I can even have my pencils on me! Like an artist ninja. :D
... Or am I getting a little bit too nerdy now.

Here's the first sketch done with the supports.

Only concerns so far is that the area around my thumbs might start to itch or something. Going to keep these things on all day, so we'll see what happens.

Will also attempt to paint with them on.

Repetition is good for the soul.

Continuing with the splash page today and testing out possible vignettes.

Seen this one before, but it's redrawn. Eyes are difficult. veeery difficult.

EDIT:

And another view. Ew.
