Uni project. Short Story.

Create a short story about something very simple. Something that happened to you personally.

I met a homeless person. I wasn't really used to them. You get used to them after you've lived here for 3 years though, but it was so awkward to begin with. Still is in some ways. :/

These are roughs. ROOOOUUUGHS. :(

YAY! Internet is BACK!

Internet is back! Internet is BACK!

Going to scan Uni project soon. They are in a rough state and I'm not feeling incredibly inspired after moving house for a week or so...

Many issues. Many!

Well, ladies and gents. I'm moving house. So on Saturday I am officially cut off from the internet! No idea when we would get it up again in our new house, but hopefully very swiftly.

This was my doodle to express my angst. :P Been doing a lot of online gaming and feel gutted that I won't be able to touch it for a while!

Paint rough. Page 1.

Without the panels on the top (which is going to be the ones of Lynn waking up)

Still need to get some proper contrast in. I'm very bad with that. :D

The process of waking.

Rough doodles. Doing small panels for the first page. not sure which ones are gonna fit in yet. Here's one.

And here's some more.

Rough doodle during break time.

Doodle based on scene in Arelith. Doubt it will be finished.

*goes back to short story*

No! Bad Kroenen! BAD.

*tries to slap drawing frenzy away*
Watched Hellboy yesterday. Rubbish movie, but one of the baddies was just to die for. Had to draw a bit of uniform goodness. Just to get it out of my brain...

Page 1, light pencil work.

This is without the introducing panels that will be added to the top.

Very light pencil work, so I hope it shows up.. :)

Wanna see something rare?

(Hrm. For some reason my scanner does not like red. It tends to kill of quite a lot of it.)

Roughy roughy rough.

"You've got some issues, right there."

First colour rough of page 3.

Colouring an entire page of narrative is really really hard, as I've probably said before here. :P

Fun, but almost always leads to a cock-up.

Let's see how this goes.

Stinky stink.

Spiky business.

I would like to apologize in advance to my parents whom I know are reading up on this blog now and then.

No love stories here, mum. :D

Get back in action ya foo'.

Had tutorial today. Will change the way the short story is structured, but otherwise the story itself and the artwork is fine. It's just a question of reshuffling a few things to add more tension.

Here's a pretty picture of Chris. (I am so sorry Chris)

And here's the first page for Nebo. Sort of. Not sure if I posted this version before? Ah well.

Possible Short Story.

Lynn, main character of Nebo.
Story will be four pages (two spreads, basically) and depict the process of her waking up.

She's got some issues.

First rough here. My penciling is veeery dirty and rough in general, so hopefully you should be able to tell whats going on :P

Cramps. Have to stop now for a little while.

Favourite expression:

And another one:

Ah, why draw happy people when you can draw shit-scared ones?

Quick paint of zeh hug of death.

Man, I'm in a flow. Just keep churning out this Forgotten Realms stuff.
After tutorial tomorrow I will need to focus on Nebo. No more faffing around.

Okay. Got cramps now. Had to force myself to stop. Literally. :P

Here's a sketch of another character I've met ingame.

I. Fucking. Love. Bad guys.

*high on coffee*

Pencil sketch of character meeting drunk Orc in a bar. Woop!

Voresh being sick. Lovely stuff.

*goes to paint*

Going to try doing something a bit different with these... Will probably go to shits, but it's good to experiment and not be too precious.

A lot has happened. So I shall doodle.

I am back from Bristol SmallPress Expo. What an eventful day it was. Left me dizzy!
So what do I do to relax my brain?

Also planning to finish up the rough comic pages I've got, then start thinking about cute little furry chihuahuas again (Nebo). Need to get back to my poor tortured main character Lynn. God I love torturing my creations. Am I morbid?

Curiosity Killed the Badger-Lady.

Very rough still. A short narrative from roleplaying online. One of the things I am going to show Paul Gravett today (in 4 hours! GAH). Will be interesting to see what he thinks, but at the same time I wish I could've finished them all to a standard I'm pleased with.

It's all very rushed.

A few days later...

Aaack! Spit out narrative please!

Having second meeting with Paul Gravett tomorrow afternoon. I've been so busy with Macmillan that I haven't really been able to properly focus on my normal narrative style...

So I have a day to come up with something.

I will most likely end up showing him work in progress stuff and see what happens. A shame really. Not everyday you get to chat to someone like him. :(

Woop woop. Rough sketch of a tavern.

Something to be painted to add atmosphere perhaps?

Having a break and doing some doodling.

None of these have anything to do with Uni work.
Sketches and paintings from roleplaying.

Unfinished painting.

w00t! Watercolour. Practicing more on tonal.

w00t! Went a bit nuts with the colour. Oh well.

Unfinished linework doodle.

Rough comic of a scene ingame. I think it's a sort of, 'you had to be there' moment. :)

2 Day Workshop with Ben Newman.

Create a crowd scene with interactions.

I will link this because it is simply too wide to post here. :)

Cafe crowd, linework

I tried to get this painted in time, but it was just impossible. I will try to finish it someday, but just REALLY need a break from it. (it is A3 in size)

I think I've found something new I really love though. Can't ever remember doing a crowd scene before. Not like that. :)
Different groups:
Arelith fantasy people.
Business people.
Cafe workers.
